Sony SEL24240 FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Zoom Lens for Mirrorless Cameras

    • Using it without a tripod will result having a camera which will be not exactly a "keeper": you will have sharp results on still objects in AF-S and moving objects in AF-C but you will lose shots depending on your hands shaking
    • A prime lens gives you brilliant results in most kind of condition; this lens has to be mastered and if you understand how to use it you can definitely have sharp result
    • On one hand Dxomark registered very sharp results at wider angles and f11 and the lens is capable to keep it sharpness till 50mm at f/11 especially in the center of the frame, while, zooming in the lens start loosing sharpness
    • This means that the amateur photographer willing to have brilliant results on Auto will be disappointed
    • It gives me a tremendous range of use without having to swap lens (thus avoiding polluting glass and sensor), and a zoom that produces great results.
    • The only one reason I would suggest to use this lens on a Sony A6000 or 6500 is because the issue related to sharpness is at the edges of the lens, but with a crop factor of 1.5 you are most likely to cut off the edges and have sharp result
    • Other than the focus issue which seems like about a 1 in 10 shots issue, I'm getting very sharp results at all apertures.
