They top out at 4x speed, and seemed to burn about a third of that time at 2x (I assume that was to burn to one of the layers), so burning each disc full and then verifying took about 4 hours per disc.

Total time to burn a disc and do a verify is 2.5 hours per; not too terrible bad for a (soon to be) offsite backup copy of data/pix/videos I can't replace.
