The ones you buy in the store dispenses way too fast and easily - these do small drops and need some finger muscles (more than a 2 year old, that is) which is great to not waste an entire bottle to give her a little independence.

The colors are not vibrant the tubes are very small and I felt like I would need a whole bottle to get the desired color I need it

These food colors are realy nice bottle is small but color nicely have to use whoe bottle for a cake color.
