Update: I did call amazon today, and although they did not refund my purchase price, they did issue me a credit that will apply toward another amazon sold/shipped purchase, which is the same to me, since I'm a prime member and order frequently.

They are a bit difficult to install, glad it came with two.

I replaced it with the second one after dealing with the crumbling chip and the second one didn't even last 2 months before the same thing happened
