I corrected the bends and made it fit, but the coil section is too big, and the wire gauge is too thick

but I am not sure if it was done in the right way

Only needed 1 of the 2, using needle nose pliers, put the top pin in first and then used the pliers to get the bottom pin in, helps if you partially close the door while doing it, have to flex the pin to get the bottom in with the top already installed.
