These work perfectly to connect to the proprietary connection on one side, and directly to speaker wire (note -- the wire itself, not with any connectors) on the other end.

Sony has an absurdly stupid proprietary connection on it for speaker wire, which I believe they do on a number of their systems

I removed the clips, twisted and soldered connections and now they work just fine.
