Theater sound and very nice bass response.

Accurate response..nice soundstage and suprisingly good lows.

As the bass port is in the back, 2-3 feet between the speakers and the wall behind them prevents boomy/unpredictable bass response

These pointed feet screw into the bottom of the speaker, firmly situating it on the floor which improves bass response and imaging

The point source KEF Uni-Q drivers provide a smooth and detailed frequency response along with a tight, focused image and the larger 6.5" Uni-Q of the Q300 allows for better low end response then the Q100's 5.25" driver without stepping up to the larger Q700 tower

They have a generally excellent midrange and a powerful upper bass and lower midrange response.

I prefer an uncolored, flat response, even if it appears a bit dry on rare occasions

As you can see above, the tall R55Ti’s hardly overwhelmed the small R5Bi’s.

Not that I don’t think the R55Ti’s are good for music.

The R55Ti’s are more sensitive than their R5Bi little brothers, which one would expect with more drivers and larger drivers.
