By that I mean Hori and AsciiPad days, and the early runs of the stock Nintendo SNES controllers (the last few runs of "genuine Nintendo" SNES controllers really felt junk - I think they farmed them out or maybe they were just counterfeit?)

Not quite as good as a real, wired, SNES controller but unless you're doing speed running and need frame-perfect inputs, you're not going to notice.
