though!Make sure you buy a MOCA-compatible splitter and an extra short piece of coaxial cable too.
-
Supports MOCA
-
300 feet is also the recommended MoCa limit, theoretically they could be further and still get a MoCa signal, so if they're anywhere close to you in distance I would certainly install one of theseThe item description does say it comes with ethernet cables, a coaxial cable and coaxial splitter, but it does not
-
My modem does not seem to support MoCA, so I got a pair of these to extend the network to an upstairs room that was wired for coax but not cat5e
-
You will also need to purchase a Actiontec MoCA adapter ECB2500CK01 unless you have a MoCA capable Modem/Router.
-
I have a MoCA capable Modem/Router made by Motorola, but for some reason I could not get them to pair up, so I purchased the adapter.
-
New provider said that the network is MoCA capable.
-
But now I know how easy MoCA is.
-
Was looking into wifi range extenders from several brands and even the google mesh, then came across this and it is MOCA compatable and works great.
-
and I love MoCa.
-
If I need more performance I can spend $70 or more on a better MoCA bridge but for my purposes this small project was a success.
-
My internet router was MoCa compatible so the only thing I needed was a splitter to enable the cable outlet near where I placed this device
-
Just make sure you have a MOCA adapter near your network router for this to work.
-
Best cost effective MOCA adopter!!!
-
You will also need a splitter(s) (NOT INCLUDED) and the MOCA filter (NOT INCLUDED) to keep your HSD signal from leaving your house (this is why Spectrum disables MOCA)
-
Spectrum disables MOCA on there modem/router combo units so you will need 2 of these to get it done
-
But if it is a few years down the road, the couple of bucks spent here will not matter, and we can upgrade to a modern MoCA.
-
Love MOCA
-
As an added bonus to being a regular moca adapter, it even makes sure my wifi is 5 bars everywhere in my house insted of just upstairs!
-
However, I did test the unit with the modem in unbridged mode and Moca turned on, and the unit did work perfectly in Moca mode.
-
Like many of reviewers here, I was trying to find a wifi extender so that I could have the signal as strong as near the main router
-
Ethernet connection was just as fast as if it was connected directly to the router which is impressive
-
I had been told that this would solve my problem (at the very least, give me a broader wifi range, as well as, the ability to connect my PS4 via Ethernet), so onwards I went
-
It didnt work as we expected
-
I have no patience with things that don't work as they should, so I'll be returning the unit to Amazon for a refund.
