I reached out to the manufacturer inquiring as to potential resolution (perhaps I received a defective pair), but didn't hear back

To convey that I have some experienc from where I speak, I have had success with ANC with two headphones, a $39 pair that I unfortunately had left on a plane, and the pair I bought to ultimately replace those that I review here.

You won't find a better pair of headphones for the money!!

All in all, for the price, these are an excellent pair of noise cancelling headphones for everyday usage

Like it so much I bought a second pair!

I didn't get them immediately, but with a little prodding, the pair were sent and they work wonderfully, which is to say they block a good portion of the noise (never owned $300 Bose set-up so can't compare there, but I do have sensitive hearing and the most obnoxiously loud machine in the shop is quite tolerable now), the music comes in nice and clear with little distortion when ANC is switched on

If sound is important to you, I definitely recommend saving up and buying a more expensive pair that provides better music playback.

They look well-made, come in nice protective case, paired instantly without problems to my iPhone, comfortable to wear, and sound quality is good
