Although mainly designed to cancel out atmospheric background noises, as an experiment I tried listening while playing another music externally with my speakers, with ANC on, the external music sounded more distant when no music was played on this headset and when music is played on the headset the external music from the speakers just seem to disappear and can barely be heard or noticed.
