Fast and has a good cap for keeping debris out, but because the cap is not attached it is easily misplaced even though you can clip it on the back of the unit.

This is true, the cap is not snug at all so it will fall off in your pocket or bag when transporting the drive

For this flash drive, the cap that protects the usb hub is very misplaceable because the hole in the back that lets you connect a lanyard is in the same spot where you would secure the cap when the flash drive is in use

Cap is secure on both ends of the drive, but be aware that if you attach a lanyard you will no longer be able to store the cap on the back of the drive.
