And now I can play the piano without dragging a kitchen chair over which is never the right height anyway.

This is a perfect height.

The knobs are a bit stiff and it takes quite a few turns to get it to the right height--the movement is rather slow--but it might need to be that

The height is adjustable from either the left or right side of the bench

Despite my physical issues, the bench was a snap to put together (a wrench was included), the quality of the bench pad and wood is very good for the price and perhaps most important to me it raised the seat to a very comfortable height and even though it is fully extended it doesn't look "funny".
