Reviews around akai (5.00 of 5)

  • This is the best controller Akai makes incl;uding the high end stuff.
  • Akai (in my experience) has been helpful (for the most part)
  • I've been using usb controllers with Ableton Live for years now and have been through several of them - The Akai LPD8 is my favorite of the micro controllers
  • the Akai pro LPD8 controller worked perfect with reasons, and fruity loops, but it works best with ablerton live.

Reviews around work (5.00 of 5)

  • the Akai pro LPD8 controller worked perfect with reasons, and fruity loops, but it works best with ablerton live.
  • The pads feel nice, very portable and works every time the only problem is that the knobs dont work in reason.
  • Pads are not very sensitive however you can do the good old electrical tape hack that works on most Akai pads
  • This works perfect with fruit loops 11 ill give it 10 stars I had this for two months
  • Amazing works great as described, I use this with reason 5 works wonders

Reviews around quality (5.00 of 5)

  • Great quality and responsiveness, even responsive using Bluetooth
  • I read that the Korg nanopad has more responsive pads, but that the quality isn't very good and the pads tend to stick or stop working after a short period of use, so I decided to step it up and replace the lpd8 with the Korg padKontrol.
  • I'll be sure to tell all my musician colleagues about the spectacular quality of the Akai's standards.
  • Great Quality for me just starting up this was perfect.
  • the cdelivery was on time and overall it is a good quality item for the money.

Reviews around use (5.00 of 5)

  • Need for better manual to be able to make better use of product.
  • Great quality and responsiveness, even responsive using Bluetooth
  • After 1 year of good use, the LPD8 lasted much longer than I thought it would
  • The pads themselves and knobs are extremely useful and can be used for anything in a program like Ableton live 8.

Reviews around build (5.00 of 5)

  • -Solid build
  • Very well built, solid action, the pads are a bit insensitive (you need to hit them HARD to register a full-speed hit).Buyer beware: The wireless connection with Windows will not register as a midi device (Win10 Home)
  • Very well built, feels very sturdy when played.

Reviews around response (5.00 of 5)

  • Excellent response on the pads--I can even reproduce a pretty convincing drum roll at a soft dynamic on it (without using the built-in roll feature).
  • Needed a bit of modification to actually give any of the pads a useable response
  • Very easy to use, VERY nice response on the pads, and the knobs feel awesome.

Reviews around knob (4.54 of 5)

  • Very easy to use, VERY nice response on the pads, and the knobs feel awesome.
  • I bought this to use with Logic, and it basically works as advertised; the knobs and buttons all work and the pads feel pretty good to me.
  • The remaining knobs had inconsistent resistance, but basically worked

Reviews around price (4.49 of 5)

  • The price of repairing something like that is not worth
  • If I had gotten a device that was a giant pain to use, this still probably would have been a decent price, but what I got is much
  • i use the dicer to control cues and loop rolls and just wanted something bigger that i could place next to my laptop...its a great item for a great price
  • I have no problems with it at all, and recommend to anyone looking for a pad controller at a good price.
  • I bought this item for $80 and the week later the price was $39… Needless to say I returned it because for some reason it started messing with my Bluetooth settings on my iMac and my mouse and keyboard would lose connection for some reason I am going to get the MPD 218 instead

Reviews around thing (4.10 of 5)

  • If you're just looking for something to plunk down beat ideas with your laptop on the go, this thing is perfect
  • This thing is also great for setting up right in front of a laptop on an adjustable laptop stand, don't even need to have any space for it if you have a stand that fits it properly.
  • This pad has been the best thing I've ever purchased in my LIFE!!
  • I spend more time fighting with the damn thing than it would take for me to just pencil it all in by hand, while having superior control, dynamics, timing, and groove
  • I did the tape mod that can be found on youtube and this thing was well worth the money

Reviews around power (1.00 of 5)

  • So far no problems with any of the devices losing power
  • With my laptop, the USB power supply must be noisy, because the LPD8 will lose its connection and power if you even gently touch one of the cables--however, it works fine if I use a (very cheap!
  • Terrible product would not recommend wouldn't even power on or be recognized by any of my computers do not waste your money on this

Reviews around software (1.00 of 5)

  • Now back to the device and software:The LPD8 editor, albeit a little confusing at first, is still a very helpful tool for tweaking the settings of the pads so that if you want to use it in Garageband, it can be more easily accesible for drum use or even as a synthesizer
  • The software is a little lame and doesn't always work properly

Reviews around usb port (1.00 of 5)

  • However, the usb port that plugs into the device is flimsy and held only by weak solder joints
  • They only attached the mini-usb port to the circuit board with solder and it ripped the circuit
  • The USB port was slightly loose when it arrived, and now after only a few uses it has broken off the controller board and fallen back inside the case
