    • , the pads feel great, the lights are very visible, and I haven't managed to dig my nails in, or scratch the black paint off yet.
    • What really makes this stand out is the solid pads and super simple functionality
    • but I will say at least so far the pad have the same feel and quality as Akai's LPD 8 Akai Professional LPD8 Ultra-Portable USB Pad Controller for Laptops, they are fairly thick for mini pads and have a nice bouncy feel to them, not like those nightmare cheap pads they put on the earlier MPD models Akai Professional MPD32 USB/Midi MPC Pad Controllerl.
    • The Novations had seamless integration with Ableton, and they had sixteen pads as opposed to the Akai's eight (two banks though, so you really get 16 pads as well.

    • The pads work as well as my PadKontrol (or very similar).I liked the responsiveness of the keys, they are very quickly and easily registered while playing
    • The pads are decent if you want to input drums but they can't just switch to whatever octave
    • People have noted that the pads arent sensitive
    • The pads are very well responsive and the build quality of this product is overall very good.
    • The pads work pretty good and the eight knobs are nice for mapping for different functions in Ableton.
    • It has enough functions that could be very useful, such as the rotary knobs and velocity sensitive pads.
    • The pads work very well, and overall this is a quality midi controller
    • The pads work very well, and overall this is a quality midi controller
    • There are countless other keyboards for $100 or less that lack the pads and perhaps knobs, but have better keys, key action, and usually, mod/potch wheels.
    • Only one other thing, their cheaper pad, goes for $100, and that one makes more sense to me.
    • If these limitations do not bother you, this is a decent tiny laptop keyboard and the velocity sensitive pads are very nice.
    • Wow, these are fantastic pads
    • Responsive pads
    • The pads are now much more responsive and there is no "modding" needed anymore to get them to work properly
    • Related - the pads can accidentally trigger as well
    • When you hit them at the top of their force range, adjacent pads become triggered as well
    • It’s great quality, keys are nice and springy, pads feel solid
    • , it has great pads (wish I had 16 of them), but the keyboard and software let it down
    • It comes with a bigger "work space" (more pads, nobs and a full keyboard)
    • dope entry level controller, ultra portable, pads feels great
    • It's much improved from better pads to a full sized, more sturdy USB jack
    • The pads feel unresponsive at times and then at others you can blow on them to activate them
    • The pads feel nice and work flawlessly
    • The pads feel nice and work flawlessly

    • My second MPK, the pads feel great and better than the last version
    • but it’s very compact and portable and the pads are great for finger
    • The velocity sensitive pads are perfect for writing drum patterns in FL, especially when linked to FPC.
    • The keys are responsive and the pads are nice and thick to the touch
    • Once again, the pads are great and the keyboard gets the job done, but all the software is useless without agreeing to ad spyware, you cant use it
    • The PADS - ahh the pads, well some reviewers have said that the pads were more responsive than the first gen, can't comment on
    • The pads also feel great
    • Perfect for bringing to college (which I am).The joystick is actually pretty bad, but the pads are excellent, the knobs are good, and the keys feel about the same as any other plastic keyboard
    • They're actually pressure-sensitive rubber pads that only have a little bit of give
    • Good beat pad for starting, just the akai software it comes with crashes alot and won't give you the chance to play around with it.
    • I feel the pads should be much more responsive.
    • The pads are very very sensitive and accurate.

    • The pads are very responsive but not as good as maschine I think
    • The pads do work very very well.
    • but when you are accidentally triggering the wrong pads, you can screw things up
    • Part of the problem is that the documentation isn't all in one place, and it can be hard to figure out how to do seemingly easy things (like mapping the pads in
    • Pad 2 of the 8 pads is insanely sensitive and triggers when nearby pads are pressed or even when I use the keys, which makes my device almost unusable.
    • The pads are very responsive and the keys also have a good response as well
    • good feeling; controls are responsive and the pads are a blessing, if you do not need to perfom complex sequences; especially if your fingers are big
    • The pads are pretty responsive although they don't do trills really well for hi-hats
    • Is very portable and the pads and keys are very goods.
    • Really though, especially on this, the pads are generally unnecessary.
    • It looks GREAT, feels GREAT and plays like a CHAMP- Enough knobs and pads to expand your creativity- Ability to add a sustain
    • The pads feel excellent, as can be said for the keys
    • It has a solid build and the pads (in my opinion) have just the right sensitivity
    • Smooth keys, good size, and nice and sensitive drum pads are only the few good things about this product
    • But once I finally got the controller to produce sound, the pads had incredible latency.
    • The pads are terribly delayed and if you want to sync the controller with MPC essentials, good luck
    • key pressure seems spot on and the pads are responsive . .
    • Anyway like usual sorry for the longer review but just wanted to hit some points that I thought were important when considering buying this device, the pads are cool, the keys are responsive, and the portability is great, work out the issues with the Arpeggiator and this thing kicks a* and takes names!Current SET UP
    • The sensitivity of the keys and the pads is great; better than the LPK25 or the
    • The sensitivity is just right for me, as I like to actually tap the pads, if you like to barely touch your pads, then this might be a problem for you.
    • The pads are fantastic and incredibly sensitive, and the keys are decent if a little springy
    • The pads feel great
    • While I have enjoyed using this, my one pet peeve is the how hard the pads are which can extremely irritating when you are live looping however all in all its pretty cool and affordable
    • The beat pad works well and the piano keys work very well!I put up a video on youtube in

    • Pad and key sensitivity is awesome, I would recommend this product to anyone thats just starting out producing, and is looking for a compact portable controller that has pretty much everything you need.
    • I'm sure even pro's would enjoy this pad
    • On the up side the pads are very sensitive (when you can get them trigger the sounds you want) and it's a sturdy little unit with a metal chassis as opposed to most others being plastic
    • Nice pads as well.
    • A nice bit of gear easy to set up fits in a back pack when yer on the go and if the mood strikes u ..small enough to bang out a beat with yer ipad or laptop etc looks great and keys are nice pads are kool
    • pressure sensitive drum pad is great i can hit 16th notes
    • The pads, knobs, keys and buttons all feel great and I'm very happy with this keyboard.
    • It seems they have corrected that with the new models because the pads on this unit are much better to play on than even my 49
    • The keys are easy to play and the pads are great as well
    • Don't expect weighted keys or extra sensitive pads, but you'll still get the velocity effects you're looking for
    • The pads and controllers on this make it really handy, but the keys on this controller make it pretty much unusable.
    • Responsive pads
    • The assignable midi knobs work great on Ableton, and the pads do as well, although the pass have a very slight amount of latency that I just can't seem to eliminate.
    • And the pads are very satisfying
    • The beat pads are sensitive so you don't have to press as hard
    • I also am having trouble programming the pads in my DAW, but I can program the pads in the included software
    • Works as it should.
    • The keyboard keys feel a bit springy but the drum pads are awesome!I will need some time to figure out how to program it but out of the box it works fine with Garage Band as well as with it's own suite of software
    • but I disagree as per one
    • The keyboard keys feel a bit springy but the drum pads are awesome!I will need some time to figure out how to program it but out of the box it works fine with Garage Band as well as with it's own suite of software
    • I use this for a few midi type digital drums and beats, as well as for piano parts when recording
    • The keys dont feel as good as on a full size keyboard but still very good for the price, good for travelling
    • Well i had a very hard starting point with the software included but after that midi is pretty cool and learning curve is slow for me as a
    • Works exactly as you would expect
