I had to really bash the pads to get a consistent, hard hitting sound every time

The pads do work very very well.

It’s great quality, keys are nice and springy, pads feel solid

What really makes this stand out is the solid pads and super simple functionality

Pad and key sensitivity is awesome, I would recommend this product to anyone thats just starting out producing, and is looking for a compact portable controller that has pretty much everything you need.

I expected the pads to be buttons, like on the Novation units

The sensitivity is just right for me, as I like to actually tap the pads, if you like to barely touch your pads, then this might be a problem for you.

The assignable midi knobs work great on Ableton, and the pads do as well, although the pass have a very slight amount of latency that I just can't seem to eliminate.

When you hit them at the top of their force range, adjacent pads become triggered as well

Once again, the pads are great and the keyboard gets the job done, but all the software is useless without agreeing to ad spyware, you cant use it

While I have enjoyed using this, my one pet peeve is the how hard the pads are which can extremely irritating when you are live looping however all in all its pretty cool and affordable

but I will say at least so far the pad have the same feel and quality as Akai's LPD 8 Akai Professional LPD8 Ultra-Portable USB Pad Controller for Laptops, they are fairly thick for mini pads and have a nice bouncy feel to them, not like those nightmare cheap pads they put on the earlier MPD models Akai Professional MPD32 USB/Midi MPC Pad Controllerl.

Only one other thing, their cheaper pad, goes for $100, and that one makes more sense to me.

Wow, these are fantastic pads

The pads work as well as my PadKontrol (or very similar).I liked the responsiveness of the keys, they are very quickly and easily registered while playing

The beat pads are sensitive so you don't have to press as hard

It seems they have corrected that with the new models because the pads on this unit are much better to play on than even my 49
