The instructional book is very confusing, seems to assume everyone knows how to read sheet music

While the books and everything seem helpful, I cannot recommend this because the main component, the ukulele, is completely useless

The Book is excellent and the ukelele looks ok but buzzes a lot

I like the book that comes with it too, that has cdroms so you can hear the melody of songs you don't know

the book is not super helpful but everything else is great.

so it's not that-just the strings being super stretchy and NOT maintaining their tension (weather over 80 here may be why?)No good using your book, DVDs or CD learning your chords with a continually de tuned instrument!

The book is fine, though I prefer Play Ukulele Today! for the rank beginner (it teaches the notes on the strings) and if you are somewhat familiar, then I prefer Ukulele for Dummies which has a lot on not only playing, but strumming, picking, styles and has a CD and many types of songs to learn

He lost the instruction book on CHRISTmas morning but he is using the internet to learn.

However the book looked promising, and I supposed the nylon strings will be easier on the fingers.

The DVD and instruction book is fine, the gig bag is useable, but what can you expect from a $35 kit?

It's a pretty good book, with a reference section at the back with more chord diagrams than you're likely to need

The instructional book is very easy to understand & the tutorial CDs help keep you on track.
