Alfred’s Teach Yourself to Play Ukulele, Complete Starter Pack

    • The instructional book is very confusing, seems to assume everyone knows how to read sheet music
    • While the books and everything seem helpful, I cannot recommend this because the main component, the ukulele, is completely useless
    • The Book is excellent and the ukelele looks ok but buzzes a lot
    • I enjoyed the book, at the back was all the chord you need.
    • I like the book and DVD, but the uke won't stay tuned
    • I like the book that comes with it too, that has cdroms so you can hear the melody of songs you don't know
    • The book isn't that useful, it just goes over basic music
    • The book was extremely easy to learn by, and as far as I was concerned, the ukulele was a quality instrument
    • It gives a nice overview of music notation and the dvd compliments the book well
    • The book is useful but I only really use it as a reference to the chords in the back
    • Great book!!!
    • the book is pretty comprehensive, but the ukulele is extremely low quality
    • Good book
    • This book is really good and helpful if you want to learn to play ukulele.
    • But the book is extremely helpful
    • Great present - books and CD's included for easy learning.
    • This is a good sturdy ukulele, and the book is easy to follow.
    • This os a great Ukulele for anypne who is just starting out and the book is quite helpful when learning the chords.
    • The book is not "beginner friendly".
    • The case is extremely cheap, however works and the book is nice for a beginner (was helpful in putting the new strings on).I gave this to my 11 year old son and when he saw it was a
    • Great book and not bad quality ukulele for the price
    • Ukulele is not the best one but it met my expectations, and the book is really helpful, you can find any chord you need easy.
    • The book and instrument are just fine for a beginner
    • so she could play her own while I strum my (high-quality and expensive) ukulele, so the quality is fine as a toy and I expect the book will be nice for me as I learn
    • Having been a musician for over 15 years, the book was redundant but very useful
    • The book and DVD are helpful and throughout
    • The ukulele sounds great and the book is very helpful
    • book is dumb and the ukelele is hard :(
    • I like the book and the CD, as these are published by my favorites, ALFRED.
    • Book is helpful and pretty straight forward.
    • We haven't watched the DVDs, because the book has been great
    • The kit comes with everything as it says it does; Audio CD, Video CD, Book that teaches how play the Ukulele (Including tons of songs to play), A free limited One-Year warranty with extremely easy sign up, and a firebrand Ukulele with a case
    • The book it comes with is wonderful
    • So bottom line: flimsy case, uke is not strongly made (lasted less than a month before snapping), nice book and CDs though
    • the book is hard though
    • The book is confusing to a novice,no talent person, like me
    • Good for the price, and the book is quite helpful!
    • The sound is great and the book is easy to understand.
    • The book and CDs were helpful and the saving quality for this purchase
    • I love the book with the DVD and CD
    • the book is not super helpful but everything else is great.
    • so it's not that-just the strings being super stretchy and NOT maintaining their tension (weather over 80 here may be why?)No good using your book, DVDs or CD learning your chords with a continually de tuned instrument!
    • The books are nice not the uke:(
    • The book is cool
    • The book is fine, though I prefer Play Ukulele Today! for the rank beginner (it teaches the notes on the strings) and if you are somewhat familiar, then I prefer Ukulele for Dummies which has a lot on not only playing, but strumming, picking, styles and has a CD and many types of songs to learn
    • The book & DVD (I used them together): Fantastic
    • He lost the instruction book on CHRISTmas morning but he is using the internet to learn.
    • However the book looked promising, and I supposed the nylon strings will be easier on the fingers.
    • The DVD and instruction book is fine, the gig bag is useable, but what can you expect from a $35 kit?
    • Good book, but the Ukulele is a cheap toy
    • It's a pretty good book, with a reference section at the back with more chord diagrams than you're likely to need
    • The instructional book is very easy to understand & the tutorial CDs help keep you on track.
    • It came with a good teaching book with a CD and a DVD
