    • The quality of the instrument is not good

    • The quality of strings and the quality of a cheap uke can be optimized to the point where it's more than barely playable, and one mistake people make when taking up a musical instrument is to buy one that is so inexpensive, that it frustrates the learner

    • The intonation is bad as you move up the fretboard (for those new to music, that means that the higher the note on each string, the more out of tune it is), the action is high (translation: you have to press hard on the strings because they're far from the fretboard), and the sound quality isn't that good, even by ukulele standards
