Alfred’s Teach Yourself to Play Ukulele, Complete Starter Pack

    • It has a really good sound for a starter Ukulele, and the included instructional materials had me playing songs the same day I got it.
    • But I actually play the Dolphin quite a lot and enjoy its sound
    • Makala dolphin has very pretty and cheery sound as ukes should, but the Alfred has very dull sound
    • It's not the highest quality, but for the price, they give you everything you need to learn and it has a decent sound.
    • I started with it, and a friend brought over his non-toy uke, and I was amazed at the better sound (his is not an expensive one, about $50).
    • While the instrument itself certainly isn't of high quality, it is more than adequate and has a good sound.
    • Nice quality and sound.
    • my daughter plays it and it has a very good sound
    • Great sound, full bodied, with a nice finish at first glance, so I can't say too much here
    • For the price you get quite a bit but its a little cheesy sounding and needs to be tuned
    • because it was my first Ukulele, but I really enjoy this uke and the sound.
    • but it does produce a good sound with aquilas and is a great starter uke.
    • the sound is also very good and crisp tuning problems of which I had read previously not found them, just a matter of a few daysrefine it with piano or tuner and after the strings yield
    • It's kind of dead-sounding
    • It has pretty good sound though and is easy to tune
    • Makes good noises, has good sound,is fun,for kids that like it,I think it is a good idea that you get it if you want it
    • Decent sounding for a starter, IMO
    • Honestly though, I've been able to get a good sound from this uke, and if you can get a decent sound from a low-end instrument, you're doing alright.
    • It's fit and finish isn't the best, and the sound is marginal, but overall it's a real decent value
    • It has a great sound, but the 'lightweight gig bag' definitely is lightweight
    • The sound is disappointing to begin with
    • Everything came in great condition and once I tuned it for the first time, it had a beautiful sound
    • That aside, I decided to try to learn something new and heard the ukulele was not too difficult and I like the sound
    • I have had this ukulele for over a year it plays great, sounds great, and has held up with no issues
    • , it looks great and when its tunes, the sound is good.
    • The sounds was much better, but the ukulele still wouldn't stay tuned for long, making it very hard to play or practice.
    • It has decent sound and the quality is pretty good
    • This sounds inane, but it really comes in handy once you start cracking down and learning to play
    • It's not terrible quality and if I decide that I really am gonna be a bonifide uker, then yes I'll get a better one, but over all the construction isn't bad and the sound isn't awful either
    • The ukulele has a nice sound to it, the tuners are geared which makes it easier to tune, and the book and video have helped him a great deal in the process of learning the basics.
    • Some people prefer a richer sound that comes from a concert
    • Strummed a couple cords (quick tune), and didn't like the sound at all
    • Reasonably priced and great sound
    • The sound is great and the book is easy to understand.
    • The Ukulele is professional quality & the sound is really good
    • But the ukulele is cheap and sounds terrible
    • Keep it in tune, it is a beautiful sound.
    • Very hard to keep tuned, strings too hard, very small sound.
    • Sound is good
    • It doesn`t have the best quality sound, as i have heard from playing other ukes in guitar center, but it serves its purpose
    • Always loved the sound of a good uke
    • Aquilas are made of a nylon that makes a loud, rich sound and they are known for bringing out the sound of even poorer quality instruments
    • It doesn't stay tuned very long and isn't the best sound
    • Great sound for such a small instrument.
    • The sound is very good and the size is perfect for a child.
    • Produces a good sound too
    • We though it nice to have the extras, like the CDs, book, and bag, but found that when the sound of the instrument was lacking, it just wasn't much fun to play.
    • Nicely constructed and has great sound at its affordable price.
    • I think the sound is pretty and it seems reasonably well made for the price
    • and he was amazed at it, music has been in my family for over a 100 years, his dad was a great guitarist we lost him 5 months ago, so i showed my grandson the Alfred and asked him if he could learn to play it, and of course he said yes, and to my shock he has made some very good sounds come out of it, like my grandpa told me its not the instrument you hold alone, its the instrument that holds it, i had not played much myself in last 25 years wrote a bit, got my sons started playing
    • It's pretty sturdy and the sound is good once tuned
    • What it means is that the frets are not right!First fault of dull sound is something I can live with, but playing an instrument that's out of tune is pure pain
    • The fretboard is messed up so even when the strings are perfectly in tune, when pressed down, the notes are always slightly sharp so all the chords sound like a disaster
    • This is such a cute little instrument, my daughter loves it and the sound is good.
    • Aquilas are made of a nylon that makes a loud, rich sound and they are known for bringing out the sound of even poorer quality instruments
