They die in about two weeks when used for my TV remote

I ended up buying the wrong kind, I bought AAA when I should've bought AA, but I found a use for these and they work well enough.

Seems like they might have been used.

First uses seemed to die fast

For cheap batteries use AC Delco

Seem as good or better than other name-brands I've used, but I don't have any real data to support that.

When using for Xbox one these are futile

but i use these on a small clip on fan to keep my infant daughter cool and these batteries died with three hours of intermittent use.

Fortunately they did not destroy what they were used in but am surprised they would sell batteries that do this....
