The stand is solid plastic, but it seems to be very sturdy.

The wide legs have rubber feet on them which do an excellent job of preventing the monitor from sliding around, and the top of the monitor stand is a nice textured plastic which prevents glare and ugly dust streaks and stuff from showing up on it
