I like this mousepad so much, in fact, that it might not make its way to hubby's gaming computer after all

It is a decent size mousepad, but has limited lighting effects.

I think this mousepad would also be useful when using a laptop in less-than-ideal situations, e.g., an uneven or dirty/sticky surface.

Although the AmazonBasics mouse pad looks cool, my Razer mouse does not respond that well with it.

I have a soft Razer mouse pad that's slightly smaller than this AmazonBasics mouse pad.

The downside, of course, is that you need to have enough clear desk space in your work area to accommodate the pad, which measures 13.9 x 10 inches.

The thing is, though, that space is quite welcome for the mouse

Don't get me wrong, it's great, I just had to clear a little more space than I had anticipated in its arrival.

Attached to the pad is a nice flexible braided USB cable which provides power for the lights and is a little over five feet long.

I initially thought the LED lighting effects were an unnecessary gimmick.

Its a good match for my Corsair Mouse, which has its own cool light effects!

My mouse continues to work well, it rests on a clean flat surface, and the LED strip makes it look cool.

Not a ding there, since there is no reasonable alternative (I am NOT changing batteries on a mousepad!).So to my way of thinking, it does extremely well where it counts....a stable surface upon which to support a gaming mouse.

The AmazonBasics Hard Gaming Mouse Pad with LED lighting provides a consistent mousing surface and would likely make a difference for gaming if you're not using any kind of mouse pad (especially if your desk/table has any kind of uneven texture to it)
