I purchased these because the description specifically states, "Sturdy Cardboard Backing

I also have found that the cardboard backing is very flimsy, which doesn't allow you to take notes on the move, you really need to be writing on a flat surface.

The sheet of paper are a bit thinner, and the cardboard backing is thinner as well, which makes it not as sturdy when it isn't on a hard surface.

Decided to ignore other reviews that said the cardboard backing was flimsy

Stiff cardboard back, and quality feel.

Partly my fault; I assumed that these would have a stiff back cardboard to make it easier to write on while carrying in my hand, but they don't

the perforation stinks, the paper tears easily while still on the pad and the cardboard back is not sturdy, not by a long shot.

The paper is super thin, the cardboard supporting back is barely cardboard and there aren't many sheets to each pad

The only thing to note is that the cardboard backing is flimsy and bends or curls easily, so if you are going for a stroll to write under a tree, or amuse yourself taking notes when not at a table, you might desire a companion of a firm piece of cardboard, or plastic rectangle.
