The problem is that the assembly is a bit shoddy

The CHEAP xlr connectors are a bit oversized, very difficult to insert and remove from all of my gear.

Also, some of the solder joints were a bit sloppy in a few spots on both ends

When I switched from TR cables to these XLR cables, the slight bit of background hiss i was hearing went away, and now my synth sounds crystal clear.

A bit disappointed as this can compromise durability of the product

Coiling was a bit difficult, but it calmed down after a bit and coiled reasonably well.

A little bit skinnier than other cables that I've bought in the past

Works great but connectors are a bit difficult to plug in and unplug.

I had electrical tape around it for probably a decade, because the connection was a bit loose.
