  • if you want a solid state guitar amp but to get 200w the Ampeg is more affordable and just use some pedals in front of it or in the fx loop.
  • I also plugged it into my 2 X 12 guitar cabinet and if you dial up the treble, maybe back off the bass a bit, it makes a very capable guitar amp as well
  • But this solid state amp is somewhat tube like and has that warm response vs a brittle response that many other solid state guitar amps in its price range would give you
  • " I mean it is a really good guitar ampntoo through a guitar speaker cabinet
  • It can get obviously more of a bassy guitar sound which I like

Reviews around job (5.00 of 5)

  • I would highly recommend this amp for practice and band rehearsals - the aux input for an iPod or other player, and headphone jack do the perfect job for learning an practicing songs.
  • Not enough to play over a heavy handed drummer or a guitar player turned to 11, but it does do a great job.

  • This little amp sounds just as good as the $1000.00 80lb Ampeg SVT head I played back in the 80's.

Reviews around effort (5.00 of 5)

  • The pots on the second unit were very tight, almost unable to turn them without significant extra effort - and once again, very noisy

Reviews around knob (5.00 of 5)

  • You’ll likely need a dirt pedal because the amp doesn’t give you as much dirt as a guitar amp’s gain knob

Reviews around sound (3.86 of 5)

  • So far I have not been able to get a bad sound from it - the tone variance is not dramatic yet allows you to tailor the sound to what you want
  • So far I have tried it with a Fender Precision Lyte, Kubicki Ex Factor, Fender P-bass with flat wounds, and a StingRay - all sound fantastic ... especially the StingRay
  • But I’d say the solid state Orange amps sound and respond
