• Reviews around town (4.20 of 5)

    Animal Crossing: New Leaf

    • You need to build up and improve your town, all while trying to expand and redecorate your home
    • You essentially control the town and how it works, which is completely different from the original
    • Collect bugs, fish, fossils, and paintings, dive in the sea, shop, make your town a better place.(Also, the QR code system for sharing designs is probably the best friggin thing ever)
    • With New Leaf, I feel engaged enough through the use of town projects to try and keep my town nice long enough to try and get the award
    • Now that you play as the mayor, it's your job to create the best town
    • My town is beautiful and you should buy this game and let's be friends and visit each
    • When you’re running around town collecting goods to sell, you’ll encounter the local townsfolk
    • Those custom patterns can now be APPLIED to walls/flooring, as well as your town's ground as well, making even more interesting designs and pathways
    • Or, if you'd like (which is what I have enacted), you can have a beautiful town, when weeds don't grow as often
    • You can set your own goals to do whatever you want your town to be like and there are new things happening almost everyday once you start
    • Something new to do every dayWonderful writingLoads of customization options allow you to make the town your homeOnline play is wonderful and well implementedMemorable and fun cast of charactersPreposterous amounts of things to do, collections to complete, public works projects to build, relationships to grow, etcCons:Punishment for not playing enough, where the town becomes overrun with weeds and villagers leave if you don't playVillagers are more likely to try and move away the more you like them for some strange reasonVillagers plant their houses wherever you want, which can ruin what you are building or working towardNot enough storage space for materialsSome optional bonuses caused by putting certain colors in certain areas in your home throw off what you want your house to look like, cause clutterSome items in inventory do not stack, or don't stack high enoughGame punishes running from place to place, which kills flowers that are planted and erodes grass to dirt, which is very hard to repairFlower crossbreeding is ludicrously convolutedFinal thoughts: It's a beautiful, simple game with an impossible amount of content with a few small hiccups in the game's design
    • My favorite part is all the new customization options so you can really make the whole town feel like your own.
    • You can see what their towns look like, among other things, which is a first for the franchise
    • And the best part is, if your don't like your town
    • Or to get the town looking like what I'm envisioning it to
    • There's an aspect of responsibility in keeping your town clean and pretty as well that definitely adds to the urge to constantly play it, even if only for about ten minutes a day
    • Oh, the whole town did chip in, all right: a measly 383 Bells!
    • It's always fun to try to achieve your perfect town
    • This gives you a lot to do in setting up your ideal town
    • One of the things I disliked about City Folk was how difficult it was to get a Perfect Town rating (for me anyway)
    • A third of one's time improves the town, a third improves one's house, & a third improves one's popularity by interacting with townspeople, who have commonly encountered personalities, wicked memories, & clever monologues
    • , there's so much to do from improving your new town to fishing, catching bugs, digging, and many other little things that can help your town
    • I was worried this would interfere with my ability to build a good town, but it hasn't caused any problems
    • It's so much more motivation to get the town looking nice and get stuff built like fountains and bridges and new stores
    • New events and things to do pop up every day as well, and the towns celebrate different holidays in real time as well
    • It allows you to visit another persons town without actually tampering that town
    • The goal is to make your town the "perfect" town, while also created a massive mansion for you to live in, filled with a wide array of objects (mine now looks like a castle which is awesome.
    • While you can advance the clock~ beware that moving that clock too far into the future will bombard your town with nasty weeds that takes FOREVER to get pulled
    • yet you have to become friends with them and help your town to become the loveliest town ever
    • Falling into the motions of keeping a tidy and happy town is a pleasant time sink and you're never really rushed for anything in particular.
    • Since you are the Mayor in this game, there are public works projects you can elect to take on and fund (mostly by yourself) that will improve the town and add features like benches, fountains, a coffee shop, etc
    • Now with proper town customization!
    • I must warn all of you with this game if you are picky about what your town will look like, please read this paragraph very carefully
    • and I are not in a competition to have the best town.
    • You have to improve the town, and your new house.
    • Along with the gameplay, graphics, and soundtrack, the game expands the more you play, which further immerses you into your little town; as Mayor, you can customize the town in many unique and innovative ways, like adding bridges to your river or customized signs, and much more; of course, this takes a while as it costs money to customize your town, but it adds variety
    • One of my favorite games to play...perfecting my town is an on going
    • You really do get attached to the villagers over time and it's nice to relax after a rough day and come back to your peaceful town
    • Public work projects to further individualize my town have been really enjoyable too
    • The town is so well put together and it excited me that there is a store for every thing
    • You can visit the towns of other players, even when they're offline, with the Dream Suite, and other players can visit your town as well
    • I could play this game for hours, I mean, I DO have responsibilities to the people to better my town for them!
    • Those custom patterns can now be APPLIED to walls/flooring, as well as your town's ground as well, making even more interesting designs and pathways
    • It's a game to play daily in a lively town that you have a lot of control over
    • Whether or not you make the town beautiful or completely neglect it, the villagers are just as happy either way
    • Allowing random people to come visit your town can be fun and nerve wrecking
    • I had no reason to assume this was an unlicensed game.)I know at the end of the day this is just a video game, but I love this game so much and I LOVED my town so much
    • The garden ordinance also makes it so your town doesn't get destroyed if you miss a week, meaning you don't have to play it every day like the old ones
    • I currently activated the Beautiful Town ordinance
    • The whole you are the mayor mechanic is so much fun because you get to chose what your town will look like and act like
    • New Leaf really builds upon everything I remembered from years ago but have implemented the Street Pass features to really allow people to enjoy towns of other actual people as well as allow you to have 3 others visit your town at the same time
    • You exit your house, dig up your fossils, plant flowers and trees, perfect your town, fish for the museum, upgrade or add all the buildings on Main Street, try to get set items, and pay Nook your first born to upgrade your house
    • Also, since buildings are constantly being built and upgraded on Main Street, it really keeps the town fresh and alive
    • I'm not young (and neither are my daughters, lol), and seeing how it helps them relax after a day of stress by just enjoying making their towns all pretty by gardening or fishing & catching bug for the museum, or even simply helping out their villagers makes this game so wonderful & enjoyable
    • ’s towns via WiFi has provided inspiration for my own home decorating quests
    • Make a human mayor of a animal town, keep him busy with making new friends, sprousing up the town, celebrating the holidays, creating town projects and ETC ETC ETC
    • This game is fun and there's always something to do in a lively little town where you're the mayor
    • In this game you are the mayor trying to perfect the town.
    • There's a certain charm in your character popping out of their house everyday to get the mail, talk to various villagers, look for bugs, run around the town, go fishing, decorate the house, work on landscaping the town, buying items, designing clothes... and while the graphics are simple, there's also a very comfortable, happy feeling from looking at them and there are so many items and ways to play the game (even beyond the original intentions of the game and its items) that anyone who can find some enjoyment from one of the various types of game-play offered will certainly find this game to be fun
    • I'm really attached to my little animal villagers and my thriving little town
    • Now all I need are people who are nice and respect each others towns to wifi and visit with
    • I am addicted to this game and find myself getting on it at least twice a day just to clean my town or improve relationships with townspeople
    • It's extra fun when you have a friend who is into this game also -- you can visit each other's towns and hang out and sell your perfect fruit.
    • I moved onto the Gamecube edition and did most I felt important, like getting a perfect town and obtaining a lighthouse, but it was hard to get used to the constant screen-acre-switching
    • While things like flower dying and weeds popping up still happen, the new garden center proprietor is more than happy to take some bells and clean up your town for you
    • The new features include improving your town through public works and enjoying vacations on tropical isles (which offer many new games).
    • Don't be too surprised when they start looting all the bells in your house to sell for a cool T=Shirt, though
