I am sure Anker will make it good, but I wanted to share this as a review in case someone else experiences the same thing

The replacement wasn't the same item, they actually sent out the slightly cheaper "Anker Ultra-Compact"

but I was also reminded recently of how great Anker's customer service is on something else.

I contacted Anker customer service about the situation and worked with them on some troubleshooting.
