    Anker 3-Port USB 3.0 Aluminum Portable Data Hub with Gigabit Ethernet Port Network Adapter for Mac, PC, USB Flash Drives and Other Devices

    • This hub is limited on what you can run on it
    • The hub will get hot if you are using the ethernet port and one or two USB ports at the same time
    • Great hub
    • But I could have done that with a much cheaper USB hub.
    • Unlike a previous low cost hub/gigabit ethernet adapter (USB Hub - Badalink 3-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Ethernet Adapter LAN Connector, Portable Aluminum Hub for Laptop, Mac OS 10.6 and above, Linux, Win7/8/10(Silver)), this device has no issues maintaining an internet connection through sleep cycles.

    • so I figured what the heck, keep it for the 3 USB ports and just have it as a little portable hub when I needed more than the 2 USB ports that Apple was generous enough to provide.

    • Without any prompting from me, other than my review, Anker sent me another hub to rectify the situation
    • It will work as a USB hub right out of the box, but if you need the network driver you have to look in "my computer" for the "drive".

    • The first time I bought it, this USB Hub wasn't working correctly,But Anker responded right away and send me a new one, which works just fine

    • In conclusion, this is a great USB hub that would be slightly better with a little extra cord length.

    • My solution was to physically isolate the hub and the Unifying Receiver using a 12-inch USB 2.0 extension cable
    • The hub is fast, the 10/100/1000 Ethernet works great with OS X and Linux.
    • So, currently it seems to me that this is a fine USB hub for lower power items such as plugging in a mouse, a speaker set, and a thumb drive all together at once, OR a single solo larger usb portable drive (with none of the other items plugged in), and for occasional use of the ethernet jack with no other devices plugged in.
    • If you want to add a couple USB ports to your laptop, or want an ethernet adapter, buy this attractive Anker hub and get both.
