This speaker is a very portable size allowing me to place it on a variety of surfaces and it's fallen several time and gotten a little banged up, but that hasn't affected anything so far.

It is a good size to take almost anywhere (too big to ride in my bike jersey pocket, hahaha).

These don't quite do it, at least not from afar, but are more than adequate when close up - far louder than my phone or tablet, and I can't complain given the price and the compact size (a boom box would be unwieldy and more expensive even if loud).
