Anker USB C Hub, 4-in-1 Aluminum USB C Adapter with Ethernet Port, 3 USB 3.0 Ports, for MacBook Pro 2016/2017/2018, iPad Pro 2018, Chromebook, XPS, Samsung S9, and More

    • Reasonably priced, this is a speedy device, no lag on wireless mouse and has good thru-put on USB hard drive..
    • Works really well with ethernet and a couple USB connections (to hard drives for example)
    • Other USB-A based devices plugged into the unit worked fine, such has my external hard drives and flash drives, which did work on all the ports
    • I wanted to love this product but as a reporter who needs a reliable adapter to use my usb-a products (digital voice recorder and external hard drive
    • I'm still trying to figure out what will make it work, but twice now it has started working when I started with the ethernet cable connected and the USB ports empty, then plugged in my two USB 3 hard drives
    • Possibly related to that first problem, a hard drive I was transferring data to disconnected during the transfer
    • Note that the only time the usb ports did not work was when I tried a keyboard + external hard drive... which was kind of hopeful to begin with
    • I am currently using this drive for my Windows VM and it works flawlessly
    • As for the product itself, works exactly like advertised, I get 700-800 Mbps over Ethernet and USB 3.0 speeds with my external hard drives
    • it worked for a month, afterthat, the connection wasn't good and I kept getting a message saying my external hard drive and/or memory cards were ejected improperly
    • So my plan was to use the Anker ports for these two devices which would free up the on-board ports for things like charging my phone or Garmin, and for my external hard drive
    • hard drive on hub to my server on the other end of the ethernet)
    • It works great with my Presonus Audiobox interface, and can also power a cheap LG optical CD/DVD drive.
    • Other USB-A based devices plugged into the unit worked fine, such has my external hard drives and flash drives, which did work on all the ports
    • USB2 ports don't like USB flash/disk drives - they drop out/disconnect after a while
    • I needed this hub to connect two external hard drives (both externally powered) and a logitech unifying usb dongle for a Performance MX mouse to my 2017 Macbook pro
    • After 20 hours of restoring the hard drive and OS to its previous state, I was up and running again
    • My only gripe is that I can't charge my computer and use this adapter at the same time, so long term ethernet cable or external hard drive use is not exactly practical
    • I'm also having issues with my hard drives disconnecting while under heavy use or randomly for no apparent reason
    • I was able to reduce this problem by plugging the hard drives one port apart in the hub
    • Solid reliability, USB 3.0 performance is at least on par with Apple's own USB-C to USB3 adapter, and able to power any of the external hard drives I have tried (4TB WD, 2TB Seagate).
