When power goes down, a audible alarm goes off allowing me time to save all my work, then power down my PC.

Use downloadable software to silence annoying alarm.

Do wish it had a physical switch to quiet the alarm

Alarm to alert you of a power spike is good but, can also be disabled through the software4

Replaced an older, larger, APC unit that suffered from annoying spurious power alarms, even after replacing the unit's battery (twice)

This thing's been solid as a rock, and best of all, I can disable the alarm

Get this model over the cheaper one to be able to shut off the audible alarm.

Even through this dying process, which went on for two days (drove me nuts) because I couldn't figure out what the whistling was and thought it was a faulty smoke alarm as I live in an old factory loft with concrete floors, pillars, and ceilings which are 15' high, so the whistling echoed everywhere making it difficult to pin down where it was coming from

There is a loud alarm that goes if the power is cut

Once done, however, the alarm can be turned off so if one loses electricity at night, the alarm isn't going off constantly.

Love this battery back up as we have power outrages ALOT!
