I would recommend, after having the unit prepared and plugged in for several hours, test it by unplugging it from the wall and seeing how long the monitor (or a bright lamp) will work on it, before it exhausts the battery.

replaceable battery good to have

After a couple of emails to APC they informed me that unplugging it for months and months at a time hurts the battery (or electronics or something).

O purchased this from Amazon new in February of 2016, the battery died in August of 2016

If the power goes out you should turn off your TV since it uses a lot of power and drains the battery of this unit quite quickly

Although I have owned this product for only a brief time, I would not hesitate to recommend APC battery back-up units.

Purchased August 6th and the indicator is already flashing green and red to say the internal battery is dead

, the power is switched immediately, with the CP my HDTV would still turn off cause the battery didnt switch fast enough, very annoying, so far everything stays on when I know the power dipped (i leave my LED lightbulb lamp in the normal outlet as a clear notification when it occurs in my room)Third, the battery is freely accessible to be replaced if/when its neededFinally, the prices are pretty much identical so theres zero reason to bother with the Cyberpoweran example of what I have plugged into the BATTERY side portsPC, HDMI splitter, Asus Router, Monitor on 1on another, i have my Xbox one and PS4

I did have some trouble hooking up the battery, but I called the manufacturer and with guidance, it all came together

APC said the battery was ruined, and the expected lifetime of the UPS was 8 years, so it needed to be replaced

Set up was easy (connect the battery) and it is working as expected.

I received a unit with a bad battery.

Note that this thing takes forever to charge itself (think 12+ hours from 20% which was the magical 5 minute cut off on my system), probably to avoid unnecessary lead-acid battery related risks on your carpeted floor, but that shouldn't be an issue unless you're having constant power problems

APC makes great UPS products and the batteries are very easy to change.

I would suggest reading the LED light's meanings in the manual just so you can know if the battery has gone bad since it is a lead acid battery but the company will let you replace the battery if it does go bad.

Both have worked well, and with PowerChute installed, they force the computers to hibernate several minutes before the battery is depleted - giving plenty of time for drives to finish writing and for a clean shutdown

Yes you can buy replaceable batteries for these but in the end it is within $10 of simply buying a whole new unit (which I have always opted for)
