The old battery was reading as "not connected" and the new one, as expected, works fine, passed the self-test in PowerChute, and passed the "unplug the UPS from the wall" test as well.

APC's equipment is rugged and lasts a long time, so it's great that I can still get genuine APC replacement batteries, even after the product has been discontinued by the company (newer models have replaced it).I popped this battery into its slot, plugged the UPS in and—everything just works
