The battery had the genuine APC label on it but was obviously produced by a third party manufacturer for APC since there were other markings underneath the label.

My APC is working just like new.

but I won't get the nice, silver APC label that tells me nothing.

Lesson learned -- peel off the phony APC label, order exactly what you need, and save some $$.

I didn't realize until I pulled out the APC batteries and realized there was a brand name below the white APC label that APC had slapped over the sides of the batteries, in essence putting their name on someone else's battery products.

So far, so good;no complaints as of 08/14/2016.

The high surge of current caused the UPS to "stink" as it charged the battery.

This particular new battery replacement looks like a refurbished item because the case is significantly scratched as if it had been previously installed.
