It's a modern looking and sleek surge protector

Nothing behind it is anything expensive and I wasn't looking for fancy/complicated surge protection

This surge is great for behind furniture when you have power packs to plug in because they go in sideways against the wall.

Those photos suggest that the units were ABSOLUTELY HIT BY A MAJOR SURGE, and the claims of the reviewers that no such surge took place are not very likely to be correct.– The bullet-hole-like damage tends to be a dead giveaway of a nasty surge coming through in a split-second and frying the thing.
