You have to use your finger nail to press down on it so that it can reach that button from within the hardened rubber.

Cheap aluminum, ordinary rubber, and cosmetic fluff (those screws on the top and bottom of the speakers aren't actual screws) all point to a cheaply made product that's designed to do more than advertised

The speaker does have one issue where if you turn up the volume too fast on your phone, the volume will rubber-band back to its original setting, but this is a minor annoyance and can be solved by just turning up the volume slowly.

The outside has that hard rubber/plastic grippy material that absorbed shocks
