    Apple iMac MNDY2LL/A 21.5 Inch, 3.0GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Silver

    • I don't miss the cd/dvd drive (yet).
    • I'm happy to announce that I have received the iMac and it was in top shape, brand new and with a 2TB hard drive
    • I was worried about this iMac arriving with a 1TB hard drive because the description is so wishy-washy
    • Also, the switch to Thunderbolt 3 (it's my fault for not realizing this during my research) has left my regular Thunderbolt-connected hard drives inoperable until I can purchase adapters.
    • This is indeed the 2017 version and definitely has a 2TB hard drive
    • I did this morning are to buy 500 dollars worth of "upgraded" software or to spend a few hours with an Apple tech erasing my hard drive and re-installing the operating system I had this morning
    • The hard drive in my 27" iMac is a Seagate and in the 21" is an HGST.
    • Note that the fusion drive is a software bridge of two separate drives: a blade SSD and a conventional 7,200 RPM 3.5" drive (in the 27"), and a 2.5" conventional hard drive in the 21" iMac
    • I’ve not been interested in iMacs before because they were not user upgradable, but I discovered (from researching on-line) that this one is (yes, Apple has been listening to users) and there are plenty of instructions on-line for adding RAM and changing the hard drive, and I will eventually be adding another 16 GB of RAM, for a total of 24GB
    • I worried about the hard drive thing as all of my friends told me "Just buy it from Apple directly
    • I actually upgraded the hard drive to an SSD the same day that it arrived, and it only took about 30 minutes.
