Poor sound quality

I looked at many forums and read from many people who think the new iPods, (6th generation and later,) have a poorer sound quality than their predecessors

This surprisingly slim device (which fits easily into the "fifth pocket" in jeans and isn't much bigger than a Razr-family cell phone) replaced my comparatively bulky 4G iPod, and I couldn't be more pleased with the bright screen, improved sound quality, and overall variety of function

It holds a lot of info and has good quality playback.

the only negatives about the classic are that the smallish screen size and limited number and quality of the applications for it

Even with the included ear buds, the sound is great -- but then came the next purchase -- some better quality noise canceling earbuds

because i have spent $$$$$$$ over the last 10 years at their store they exchanged for a new 120gb which to to his date has worked flawlessly except for the noticable poor sound quality as compaired to my old 30 gb.

I haven't yet tried the games or videos, but I can say that the player produces excellent quality sound and has had everything from Stravinsky's Rite of Spring to Purcell's Nymphs and Shepherds and Schubert's Fantasy in F Minor for 2 pianos thrown at it!

The only thing I recommend to anyone is to scrap the crappy earbuds (horrible sound quality) and get the Sennheiser PX100 or PX200.

As for the the "downgraded"/"more detail but less lush" sound quality from the headphone jack, this model pairs well (as ever, I am told) with the inexpensive Sennheiser PX-100 headphones, which are absolutely a treat for their low price (I found mine for twenty five plus shipping on Amazon
