In the long run I do recommend the Ipod Classic.

Right out of the box, the Ipod Classic is very user friendly in syncing with Itunes which I love

I would go with the nano if I were using it to carry around, but the classic is great for a home stereo.

If you especially love music and have a huge collection, I highly recommnend the IPOD classic
