The middle button is pushed in and slanted and it crashed my computer when i plugged it up

I consider myself pretty computer savy, however this software has given me several unpleasant surprises by not knowing all the in's and out's of this software.

I have yet to figure out how to get some of my movies on my iPod with out destroying my computer.
