If the new shuffle can stand up to top flight headphones and full CD resolution files that is a good sign for more casual listening.

BUT the headphones that come with it are lame, the cord is a bit short and sound quality could be better and more comfortable,

While my iPod (which is housed in a leather case) has suffered no breakage after landing on concrete, asphalt and gravel multiple times, the headphones would often break.

If you lose or break the headphones, you're forced to by their special headphones or get some adopter that allows you to use regular headphones.

I would not recommend this product to anyone because I have to purchase new headphones now in order for the product to work as expected, just save yourself some money and time and purchase this product from Apple.
