I assume that after many charge cycles and many years, the batteries will go bad and tethering will become the only mode available

Also, I HATE batteries in terms of replacing them all of the time so having this functional as purely a wired device is fantastic.

but I was surprised at how quickly it would drain the batteries

Battery lasts forever, size is great

I also have the Trackpad 1 which does not give feedback, but does have replaceable batteries

Not using the "pressure" sensitivity, but like the size, it is sensitive edge-to-edge, the gestures are working and battery life seems great so far

It has a good battery; I've yet to need to charge it after a few months of having it

If you take full advantage of such features as two finger swipe for back and forth in Safari, two finger scroll, or the five finger pinch to get to the app launcher, you will be at least as happy as before
