As Apple downsizes the storage capacity of their players and continues to make cheaper built devices that remove features rather than expand on them this continues to be one of the best MP3 players to ever come to the market.

The Classic is the only option if you are interested in buying CDs, ripping them in a high quality format, and keeping your entire collection in a portable player.

Unless and until another product allows me to carry 20,000+ songs in my pocket with good sound quality and reliable functionality, the iPod Classic 160 GB will remain the king of portable music players.

My player worked fine for a while.. maybe the first year or 14 months, although I immediately noticed that the sou8nd quality was audibly inferior to my Creative and even to my little Sandisk

But the player is good, if only apple would make software like the zune it would be great.

The player is beautiful, has a nice matte metal look in front, and a very glossy metal on the back

The new Sony NWZ 17 is an excellent player, had capacity with adding to 192 GB, it has audio which is so superior to the Ipods, that i wondered how i tolerated the latter so long, and it is intelligently designed and beyond easy to use the interface

I want a true MP3 player like the Classic provides and it's a real shame Apple has discontinued and retired the best players they've ever made

This device was the best player to ever hit the market, and allowed us non-Apple, non-IOS users who didn't care that they had to carry an "extra" device an easy way to use iTunes and bring our music with us
