Love this apple tv!I've been using a Smart TV to watch things like hulu, HBO, Netflix and needless to say, the apps have been very glitchy

Its wi-fi radio is superior to that in my smart TV

The only thing is our tv IS HDR capable

Also if you have a Dolby Vision smart TV then you will have all the streaming Apps native to the TV making the Apple TV unnecessary, assuming you have no iTunes content

However, starting a movie or fast forwarding/rewinding does not seem as fast or responsive as my 2 year old Fire TV but still a very good experience.

I absolutely recommend getting this instead of getting a smart tv, if you already have a cable box in a different room you can download the app go you cable provider and watch live tv

Unfortunately the TV is incredibly slow to boot, it takes over a minute to the point where the first video starts playing

The idea of putting a touch control on a TV remote looks absurd for me because most people will keep staring at the TV even when they are using the remote

I also have several Roku boxes and am now back to Apple TV - much better than ever!

Apple TV 4K was purchased to replace a Fire TV box that just worked.

I suspect that apps on high profile devices like these are much more regularly updated and maintained than the apps on the smart TV which do not have ANY updates.each app works great
