I have owned the Cuisinart coffee grinder, which was also a good unit, however, I like the slower speed and conical burr of the Ariete better, and I think the grind (I use the 14 setting) is more consistent

There aren't many burr grinders available under $100, so if you can get it to work for you, it represents a good value

Took burr etc apart cleaned, grind adjuster appears to be moving the mechanisms properly

Even the timer is simple, I chose the fourth position, it grinds my 8 ounces of coffee, clears the burr for a couple seconds and shuts off

I wish it came with a brush to clean the burrs

This is the quietest burr grinder I have ever used... and I have gone through 4 of them.

Whether one or the other is better between conical and flat burrs is debatable, but having the control of running the beans through the fixed space between a good burr set is arguably better than a blade that randomly chops at the beans from the bottom of the pile.

Nowhere near as well as the capersso I just bought which is designed with replaceable grinding burrs

I had been looking for an affordable electric burr dosing grinder -- "dosing" so as to avoid the countertop mess.

It is one of the least expensive burr grinders available

It had flat burrs instead of conical ones, ground inconsistently and sounded like a jet airliner on take-off.

Slightly difficult to clean but no where as difficult as the manual burr grinder I used previously for my manual brew methods

What I like - removable burr for cleaning, almost no static electricity in ground coffee container, easy to pour ground coffee directly in to cone of drip coffee maker from ground coffee container, easy to operate and well placed controls for the grinding time and grind thickness setting, removable whole bean hopper makes it easy to weigh whole beans on a digital scale before grinding for perfect ratios of water and coffee

It’s fairly easy to use and keep clean, and, typical of any decent burr grinder, it delivers a relatively consistent and even grind at most settings.

The bean hopper has a trap door which closes holding beans in if I need to clean the burr mid-grind.2

But it’s burrs are nice and produce a great flavor and even cut

The stainless steel burr is truly conical, unlike the similarly priced Cuisinart, and does a fine job of consistently grinding light roast coffee
