The protective case is ruined with scrapes on it that would not rub off, and my phones actual screen is now cracked

This needs to either be advertised as NOT case friendly or it needs to be 1-2mm shorter from top to bottom to work with a popular, low profile case like the Spigen rugged armor.

They told me they had a a different protector that works with the bulkier cases, such as my Spigen Tough Armor.

The best part is, I have a clear case which did not interfere with protector

As others have mentioned, you'll want to install the case friendly version with the case ON, or you will never get it to line up correctly (assuming your protector is cut correctly).
