This was a defective unit.

Bought in April, used about 10-15 times, and the pot metal threads that keep the brass screw/cap in the housing that allow the plunger to stop have all broken so unit no longer works and just leaks air

this unit works well and is a real time-saver not having to disconnect and check pressure.

With that being said, the new unit was not damaged during shipment as far as I can tell.

You're better off buying a cheaper unit, as this one does not command the premium price based on the quality I have seen

All in all the is a very sturdy unit that seems to be very well made.

You never know just how accurate units like this are, I have several tire pressure gauges and none agree, but these did read with about .7 of a lb of each other so that made me feel pretty good about the purchase.

The inflator works really nice, as soon as you chuck on the hose, the unit turns on a back light, and digitally reads out the pressure in the tire

I luckily landed a good unit, but I am not sure of other units with parts that are freely floating in the box

This second unit works as expected and I'm very pleased with its performance and accuracy

The unit is jammed into a box and the new one arrived having punched through its own packaging AND the outer container

The new unit has been working great with no leaks and appears to be constructed much better.

I really like this unit and ability to release air and monitor the gauge.

Update: after posting this review they sent me a brand new unit free of charge-I have updated my rating to 4 stars for excellent customer service and we shall see if this one lasts longer.
