ASUS AC5300 Tri-Band WiFi Gaming Router(Up to 5330 Mbps) w/MU-MIMO, Supporting AiProtection Network Security Trend Micro, AiMesh Mesh WiFi System, Built-in WTFast Game Accelerator (RT-AC5300)

    • I can get a good signal through all three stories of my house, even in the far basement areas ~80' away on a different floor.
    • It drops signals and doesn't work
    • My WiFi is crazy fast now and still has very strong signal well outside of my house
    • Reaches about 30 feet of usable signal out side the home.
    • Strong signal.
    • then the signal got weaker and the speed dropped from about 400mb to about 40mb
    • Not this one, it give me great signal strength anywhere in the house
    • great router, strong enough to cover the area I needed cover, I know router was overkill, but the strong signal was what I wanted
    • Signal is strong all over the house, which is 4000 square feet and 3 stories,
    • The signal is powerful in every part of the house indoor and outdoor
    • Signal is good, but not quite what I expected
    • Strong Signal
    • Even though the signal was stronger at all locations, there were still connection problems
    • After an initial 5 star review, this router worked excellent for one week then the 5GHz LED would no longer come on as well as the 5GHz signal.
    • I have better range and a much stronger signal.
    • Strongest WiFi signal I've ever seen.
    • Great consistently strong signal where others have been weak!
    • Very good signal
    • Pros: Extremely fast wifi, strong signal, Ai MeshCons: Not as easy to set up as other
    • Easy set-up with improved range and signal from my former Nighthawk AC1900.
    • Extremely strong signal throughout the house all the time
    • Love the features and the strong 2.4G signal
    • Since hooking up this router (which was a breeze) we have unbelievable signal everywhere in our home
    • If you need to cover 5000 feet with the best WIFI signal or even try a MESH with several units I strongly recommend this this unit
    • the best router you can buy, the best signal, range and speed
    • That second line would provide service to two TVs and hopefully provide a stronger signal for our wifi on that first floor.
    • Second one came but has defects with unstable wifi signals...needs to be rebooted daily.... not happy with the purchase and disappointed with the router.
    • Didn't even try the Apple products (MBP's) which seem to have a bad history with Asus routers (Google that).Given that every AC3200 router brand seems to have connectivity issues, I was almost resigned to having everything on 2.4Ghz since the signal was strong enough to serve our needs across the house
    • Perhaps due to greater signal strength
    • There are no more weak signals anywhere on the inside of my house which is a little over 2000 square foot plus attached 2 car garage
    • Perfect signal throughout the house
    • Powerful signal and crazy fast!
    • ALSO, my Townhouse has an older style heating system where the ceilings have heating elements so that probably hurts the signal as well
    • With the pass of two weeks it began to fail the 2.4ghz signal, I rebooted it but it wont work and now in a month of been bought 5ghz is not working too
    • The signal is incredibly weak for a router in this price range, the WPS feature doesn't work at all, half my devices in the home can't see the SSID, etc.
    • As of last week the router's wireless signal has been very choppy while streaming and today it has finally given out and refuses to work
    • It covers a large area with a solid signal.
    • It provided a much stronger signal for my downstairs laptop, reliable and fast access to the internet, with (so far) no issues as far as drop off or spotty reception.
    • I bought this router (RT-AC88U) to replace an Asus RT-AC68U. Main reasons were to get greater signal range and stronger connection for WiFi calling on my cell phone
    • If you're in an apartment, or someplace without walls, perhaps the signal would be better...but assuming a normal house, with the router relatively centrally located, don't count on being able to get blanket style coverage from this device.
    • Did several reboots and resets to try to stabilize it and finally lost my ethernet signal.
    • I can reach my router from any room with a very strong signal and even walk about 100 feet away from my building and still reach it
    • Very strong signal
    • so if focuses on ur devices instead of just broadcasting the signal everywhere like the ac68u does, speaking about broadcasting that is the issue i have encountered on this router the
    • if you find the signal weak - something I've only seen on enterprise AP's
    • Upgraded the data plan from the provider and wanted to get a router that could, "in theory", provide a better signal to take advantage of the increase in mbps
    • Old router's signal was very weak on the 2nd floor directly above the router (in the basement), but the signal was non-existent just 30 away
    • I have this centrally located and get a great signal everywhere
    • Has a strong signal for a good distance.
    • The best wifi router in the market, strongest signals and fastest transfer rate
    • ALSO, my Townhouse has an older style heating system where the ceilings have heating elements so that probably hurts the signal as well
    • I had a lower end nighthawk before and it worked good for a couple years until it couldn't give a consistent wifi signal
    • The 2G signal strength is amazing even with my metal roof, the 5G works great indoors but not so great a few feet outside.
    • My current Asus RT-68U dual band (2.4 GHz & 5GHz) router has done a great job of covering most of the house with a usable WiFi signal.
    • I had tried two different "range extenders" with only minimal success, having to struggle to get a strong enough signal to be able to efficiently use my laptop downstairs
    • We can even get a strong signal down at the pool and parking lot.
    • By comparison, my previous router, a Pace 5268AC (AT&T) required a mesh extender in order to get a decent signal in my basement and got no signal at all in my garage
    • On top of the fact that QOS and traffic monitoring don't work, out of the box, the #1 5GHZ radio didn't work (wouldn't broadcast the signal).
    • The same issue - continually drops wireless signal
    • Excellent range, strong 5 gig signal.
    • I get good signal all the way to my mailbox and out bask in my shop.
    • The signal would become weak even if I stood right next to the device.
    • Great signal all around the house and really good software
    • Has a powerful signal, functional all over our two-story house and back yard.
    • There were dead zones for our last router in several spots in the house and they have a good signal with this router
    • Very low signal was my issue
    • I now have a constant signal well over 600
    • Signal is good when Chromecast as well
    • Our home was made with some material that signals do not go through so well.
    • I can split up the signal with the tri-band
    • My house is only a 1500 Sq ft single story house and with this router is centrally located signal is not usable in one end of my house, had to get a range extender anyway
    • Great signal
    • Great signal strength on my patio as well.
    • The good news is that the signal is definitely stronger through the house
    • Connection speeds are great and we haven't had any issues with dropped signals or weak signals on the farthest side of the house.
    • My smart TV has a better signal
    • So many features, STRONG WiFi signal, great for wired gaming as well adding no latency
    • I also temporarily moved the RT-68U to my garage which resolved my basement and dining room issues but of course resulted in my office/family room having terrible signal.
    • I've wired my house with ethernet cables, but when I tested the wifi strength on them they had a much stronger signal than my N-speed router had, and youtube videos loaded quicky
    • Wi-Fi performance was impressive and at the far corner of my modest 1500sqft home 2.5ghz signal strength was a very good -40
    • NETGEAR range extender works with the router but picked up weak signal.
    • Very powerful wifi signal on this router and the bandwidth throughput is noticeable.
    • The last week or so it was giving a spotty signal, kept dropping in and out
    • Before I got these two routers to setup I actually had spectrum come out to improve my cable signal since the signal was too strong (I only have the cable modem I use in my apartment complex so usually they send stronger signals since most homes have more than one device)
    • Good, strong signal over the entire area of my house.
    • Easy set-up, strong signal...enough to cover my house (4500 square feet and the yard half acre), super fast!!!
    • I bought this to help get a strong signal into the room where I play competitive pc games from (where latency and packet loss kill your experience)
    • Installation was easy and initial results were good - easy to setup, much faster and stronger signal everywhere
    • Installation was easy and initial results were good - easy to setup, much faster and stronger signal everywhere
    • My signal is greatly improved over my modem/router provided by Frontier
    • We have a smaller two story home but signal is strong anywhere in a yard too
    • I had an Ac1900 with 3 antennas that gave a better signal strength than this
    • This router has a strong signal throughout the entire house and I was able to remove my range extender.
    • Strong signal everywhere in my 2100sqft single-story home
    • Unit is located in lower floor, have strong signal on upper floor
    • Been almost 2 months and no issues or lost signal yet.
    • When it does become visible, the signal is weak and won't allow any devices to connect on that band
    • 5ghz signals were spotty and dropped all the time
    • Roommates had some issues receiving a signal from 5 other routers and I would have sworn it was magnetic
    • However, I have experienced lower signal quality, as well as issues when "hopping" from 5ghz to the 2.4 ghz bands.
    • Now I get great signal through out!
    • Great signal strength through out house
    • Very fast compared to my old wifi and great signal.
    • Signal is weaker than the basic router I used previously.
    • Excellent coverage signal very strong much better than my previous router and looks very modern
    • She receives a very strong signal and it never drops the signal as well.
    • The bad news is that the first 5GHz band has such a weak signal it is unusable (a 2015 iMac in direct line of site about 30 feet away could often not even see the SSID, let alone sustain a connection)
    • Good range, easy setup, reliable signal
    • It also had problems reaching the upstairs signal wise
    • Signal is also rock solid throughout two story house.
    • The device furthest afield for us is a Ring spotlight cam outside and on the far side of the garage, and it reports Good signals (RSSI around -60 dB) - about the same as our old AirPort
    • QOS management, three Wi-Fi bands, VPN, strong WIFI signal and others
    • I get a strong signal throughout my house, in my outbuilding, and through my entire yard
    • Works better than our original router - needed to extend our signal - happy with product
    • But it has been a great router so far and it has strong signal throughout our entire property.
    • I have further range and I believe a stronger signal
    • I've got areas in my house where the signal has to cross walls or furniture, and this router doesn't suddenly give those devices five bars or anything, but the signal is strong enough to log on and get a steady-enough stream of data to handle full 4k Netflix streams.
    • My old router would drop the signal all the time and my wife would complain to me for her and her mother not being able to use the internet.
    • The signal is pretty good and provides enough of a signal for a good number of smart devices
    • No signal degradation in my apartment either
    • Strong 2.4 GHz signal with good penetration, and the usual somewhat reflective 5 GHz performance but still good speeds throughout the house.
    • I had a +9db signal gain on the 2.4Ghz band (-38 to -29) and a +7db signal gain on the 5Ghz band (-61 to -54).
    • Signal wise, it's the best - even slightly edging out Unifi Pro AP in range and outpacing it substantially in speed
    • So far this is working great, nice strong signal around the whole house
    • We have slow internet (8Mb/s)
    • , i so mad dont even want to replace it
    • I'm sure the tester turned it on and saw the 5g worked fine and then boxed it up and sent it back vs. reading what I had wrote and properly tested it for a straight period of over 4 hours
    • Like a lot of other users - the 2.4G radio failed early
    • The 5G network worked only for 30 days but since then, it has not work
    • However, yesterday the 5G radio failed so it's
    • The 2.4G covered most of my house and the 5G covered much of it as well.
    • ac3100’s 5g network was gone and 2.4g became super slow, < 6Mbps down
    • Like the rest who are advanced users of networking equipment no matter what I've tried (thermal, firmware, bandwidth, location, control channel, etc) the 5g continues to drop while the 2g is rock solid
    • The 5g is fine.
    • Just like all the others 2g works fine
    • The 2.4G works
    • The 5G network worked only for 30 days but since then, it has not work
    • I have tried firmware upgrades, read all of the forums, worked with Asus support and cannot get the 2.4g band to work.
    • Love the features and the strong 2.4G signal
    • Like a lot of other users - the 2.4G radio failed early
    • Normally this wouldn't be such a big deal but with media servers, TVs, AV receivers, security cameras, etc... relying on a stable 5g network, it's completely unacceptable
    • The 2G signal strength is amazing even with my metal roof, the 5G works great indoors but not so great a few feet outside.
    • Got this router months ago after reading so many good things abt it, the signal really goes far way, control dashboard has so many functions, HOWEVER 5G band is very very unstable, it keeps playing on/ off line every hour, so if you are looking for a rock stable 5G band go for Netgear or Cisco.
    • First the 5G failed, then the 2.4 the next day.
    • 5G was working for me for a few
    • 2.4G worked fine
    • The 2G signal strength is amazing even with my metal roof, the 5G works great indoors but not so great a few feet outside.
    • Using the smart connect rules, I was able to get the router to stabilize as long as I kept everything from connecting to the 5Ghz-1 (Lower) channel.
    • Very frustrating as I'm technology literate and have used an earlier model with similar firmware.
    • I've had high hopes of one day it may just start working as it should considering what I've paid for it
    • They will not give you a refund for the unit and will continue to send you a refurbished unit that is very likely to break as it seems these are hit or miss on hardware issues
    • QoS and bandwidth manager works as it should
    • I asked for a warranty replacement instead because I have no other router, but they have to escalate it up and get it approved as that is not standard procedure
    • The downside is that file transfers for my laptop to my multi homed NAS box (an 8 by Synology with network teaming) isn't as fast as with the Google OnHub that I pulled out to test this.
    • We have multiple clients attached, our labtop can finally work as it was designed
    • I'm really bummed as I was excited about this router and have had nothing but good things to say about ASUS from my experience with my old router
    • Works as it is supposed to
