ASUS AC5300 Tri-Band WiFi Gaming Router(Up to 5330 Mbps) w/MU-MIMO, Supporting AiProtection Network Security Trend Micro, AiMesh Mesh WiFi System, Built-in WTFast Game Accelerator (RT-AC5300)

    • But the last two just can't finesse the finer things routers can do (like do dual wan -- though they claim to).
    • Can't say enough good things about this router.
    • thing is killer and gets the job done
    • So far, this thing has wasted way more of my time than I should have let it.
    • Guess what, no more weird things happening to my computers!!
    • This thing is ready to boil some eggs
    • It is a very satisfactory thing
    • If I end up buying another router - I don't want this awful thing back
    • Really...the best thing is that connectivity is excellent everywhere
    • Good thing is, it overheats so much it does make it cheaper on the gas bill
    • The most peculiar thing is that according to CrystalDiskMark USB 2.0 (second screenshot) can be faster than USB 3.0 (first screenshot) for my hard drive in some situations
    • Circle support tried many different things but no joy
    • This thing is awesome!
    • This thing is rock solid
    • this is the best thing
    • I had only been using the damn thing 5 days and BOTH wireless bands just stopped working for no reason at all
    • This thing is awesome
    • WOW this thing is a rocket ship
    • They force you to set up a wireless is and password, which tbh is a good thing
    • When I got the router initially things were actually quite good.
    • The only good thing is that it died before the return period was up and I had to deal with sending it to ASUS.
    • Sad to say, heard many good things about ASUS routers.
    • Thing is pretty and pretty reliable
    • This thing never worked right
    • I've heard good things about the Netgear Nighthawk, would probably try that next time.
    • I'm really bummed as I was excited about this router and have had nothing but good things to say about ASUS from my experience with my old router
    • Got this router months ago after reading so many good things abt it, the signal really goes far way, control dashboard has so many functions, HOWEVER 5G band is very very unstable, it keeps playing on/ off line every hour, so if you are looking for a rock stable 5G band go for Netgear or Cisco.
    • If this thing was stable, it would be a totally awesome router!
    • This thing worked great, except only 2/3 of it was functional
    • Can't connect, things go offline, like my surveillance system... JUNK!
    • but I have to say this thing so far has been amazing
    • Where before we had issues with online games dropping connection on the old router, one this new one things start rock solid no matter where we are in the apartment
    • The thing works, and has reliable WiFi 802.11ac as well as 802.11n.
    • Another nice thing is Asus' self-hosted DDNS service
    • and then what things I didn't find too great which was totally not a deal breaker at all
    • :I can VPN out to work and it doesn't slow things down much for everyone else
    • but this thing has had no issues
    • This thing is awesome
    • I really can't say enough good things about this router
    • But shortly after that, Netgear firmware updates became very unstable and constantly caused me to roll back to an much older versions just to keep things somewhat stable and operational.
    • this thing is crazy
    • You can see every device on your network and do things like limit your kids smartphone browsing
    • I love this thing
    • This thing is crazy fast
    • That is the other thing, the three bands working together on this router dominate all the noise in my congested neighborhood
    • 8 Ethernet LAN ports, add up to 6 guests, great security, dual band, great range, this thing is awesome.
    • The best thing about ASUS is the Tech support is free unlike the other brands
    • On the down side, I'm sure beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but to my eyes, this thing is hideously ugly
    • All of that said, the only real nice thing I have to say is that the signal does cover my entire home which is great, but I am making the switch to the nighthawk
    • Sad to say, heard many good things about ASUS routers.
    • The only good thing is that it died before the return period was up and I had to deal with sending it to ASUS.
    • This thing works so good, I no longer use my wired stereo for the back and went 100% streaming off an iPad to a bluetooth jam box!!
    • bought mine at Frys because my old router broke but this thing was quite a upgrade i used it for gaming using ethernet and wireless both of which were done three floors apart from
    • Good thing is, it overheats so much it does make it cheaper on the gas bill
    • This thing is crazy fast...
    • The most advanced awesome home router I ever had, this thing is feature rich
    • I've heard and read many great things about this router only to be disappointed less than a month into utilizing it
    • This thing does a great job of providing coverage to the entire house as well as out to my attached garage.
    • Asus has revised this thing at least 5 times without fixing this problem
    • This thing is amazing
    • Cons...this thing is about as reliable as my dates on tinder
    • This thing is like a gaming computer, pretty nuts
    • I can't say enough good things about this Tri-band AC wireless router.
    • The thing looks menacing, so it is not a nice addition to your decor, but it is amazing.
    • You can set-up TM successfully only if you restore router to factory defaults and configure it from the beginning manually (NOT AUTOMATICALLY), one important thing – during configuration router cannot be connected to internet (in this case it will configure automatically)
    • I tried D-Link which I got on sale - it is a solid router but has very few options for parental controls and other nice things which you got used to on ASUS WRT (Tomato based) firmware
    • After spending a lot of time customizing things, I ran a speed test and things were terribly slow
    • Cool thing though Asus just added functionality and built into the firmware to be controlled by alexa
    • so I suggested that maybe the proper thing to do would be to send me the replacement then I could return the bad router
    • (My wife loves old things and we bought a house as old as America.)
    • This unsatisfied transfer rate was not the worst thing for
    • I read some great things about Asus networking products and decided to ignore some of the less complimentary reviews on this one and take a chance.
    • If you're not into it setting things up automatically, like every router you can dig up and set everything up yourself
    • I need a rainforest to kill all the trees in order to have enough paper to write all the positive things.
    • Upgraded my network to a 500 down 50 up service and this thing works like a charm
    • NOT ANYMORE!This thing is amazing
    • This thing is fast!
    • Since I installed the Asus, these frustrations are now a thing of the past; I' ve particularly noticed a dramatic improvement in my iPad's performance (an older iPad 4).
    • n’t go wrong with this router
    • n’t had not one issue at all
    • , i so mad dont even want to replace it
    • I'm sure the tester turned it on and saw the 5g worked fine and then boxed it up and sent it back vs. reading what I had wrote and properly tested it for a straight period of over 4 hours
    • Like a lot of other users - the 2.4G radio failed early
    • The 5G network worked only for 30 days but since then, it has not work
    • However, yesterday the 5G radio failed so it's
    • The 2.4G covered most of my house and the 5G covered much of it as well.
    • ac3100’s 5g network was gone and 2.4g became super slow, < 6Mbps down
    • Like the rest who are advanced users of networking equipment no matter what I've tried (thermal, firmware, bandwidth, location, control channel, etc) the 5g continues to drop while the 2g is rock solid
    • The 5g is fine.
    • Just like all the others 2g works fine
    • The 2.4G works
    • The 5G network worked only for 30 days but since then, it has not work
    • I have tried firmware upgrades, read all of the forums, worked with Asus support and cannot get the 2.4g band to work.
    • Love the features and the strong 2.4G signal
    • Like a lot of other users - the 2.4G radio failed early
    • Normally this wouldn't be such a big deal but with media servers, TVs, AV receivers, security cameras, etc... relying on a stable 5g network, it's completely unacceptable
    • The 2G signal strength is amazing even with my metal roof, the 5G works great indoors but not so great a few feet outside.
    • First the 5G failed, then the 2.4 the next day.
    • 5G was working for me for a few
    • 2.4G worked fine
    • The 2G signal strength is amazing even with my metal roof, the 5G works great indoors but not so great a few feet outside.
