Have burned several CDs with it and have had no issues.

I originally bought a slot drive, and it is currently in the local landfill with a recalcitrant CD in it that will never see the light of day

so i did burned about 20 cd s so far ,and its also a very affordable to purchase

I burned Data CD, MP3 CD and copied my Home Video from DVD to DVD disks (4.7Gb), using only ASUS SDRW-08D2S-U External Drive, without a problem

I needed to rip 285 music CDs and download that music onto an external hard drive as well as import all that music into my Amazon Cloud

Didn't work with DVDs or rewritable CDs as expected to.

I got it to play and burn cd

Other than that, the drive itself works fine and its quite stylish (not that style helps your read a CD and better.)

You can burn CD at 10x, 16-x, 20-x and 24-x speed

Ripped a CD and burned a disc in less then 10 minutes, also played a DVD and all is good.

I ripped about 30-40 CDs each day

Today all I did was play a previously burned CD and it worked as described

We were ripping CDs into iTunes and fortunately was able to remove the disc before the front flap fell off

While it's not as fast as an externally powered CD burner, it's acceptable and quality is flawless.

So hopefully it will serve my purposes in using the occasional disc when I rip a CD or something of that sort, otherwise it is rare when I need to use an optical drive for things nowadays

It runs CDs and burns pictures and videos with ease

so you don't have to worry about it getting stuck shut and ruining a CD.

and now we've got a nice small and portable CD/DVD player and burner to use when we upgrade to the newer Macs which don't have disc drives
